Grox is a desktop agent application published by dandandujie, built around xai-org/grok-build and connecting to the real Grok Build runtime through ACP (Agent Client Protocol) inside a Tauri desktop window. Falling into the developer tools and AI assistant category, it provides session restoration, streaming reasoning, tool invocation, code diffs, permission approvals, structured Q&A, and usage statistics. Its use cases extend to Deep Research background workflows that can be paused, resumed, or stopped; Computer Use with full keyboard and mouse control on Windows, enabled by default; headless screenshot capture via Browser Use; and a parallel side-task workbench. The software also delivers worktree and Git environment summaries, desktop notifications, a bilingual Chinese and English interface with light and dark themes, and multi-account access through Grok OAuth, the official xAI API, and OpenAI-compatible services. Extensions can be visually added, enabled, and removed, covering MCP servers, Skills, and Plugins. Grox is currently at version 0.3.5, with four versions released to date.
